"A Live Performance art event 2012"
“ A live performance art event 2012”
Today art is
developing in a dynamic way; in this context performance art is one such
unconventional approach that has given art a boarder dimension. When
performance art was initially evolving, some energetic artists were practicing
it with much zeal. There artists came
into one common ground and practice this art. However, that common ground has
yet to have a organized and systematic
channel. This is where Bindu, a space for artists started organizing activities
that focused on performing art. This organization gathered like minded artists
who were practicing this art and brought it into light. It is a primary
objective of Bindu to promote the non conventional art here in Nepal. Its first
performance art event was “ Little movement in town” that happened in 2008. Its
second event was "A live performance art" which happened in 2012. All these
events brought the gerne of performance art into the public eyes. These
activities helps the artists and the art lovers alike to understand that
performance art helps artists to express their urban experiences in a unique
ways. In a short time bindu was fortunate enough to host some very talented
international artists as well. Some local and foreigen artists collaborated
inorder to bring out their creative
expression of life. “ A live performance art” was the tittle of this event
which was comprised of three days art workshop. This workshop helped the local
artists to understand the international approach and new ideas concerning
performance arts. On the third day of workshop an exhibition was held in Nepal
Art council. This event saw the participation of a renouned artist Seiji Shimoda
along with two other artist from Japan and nine local young artist.
